The Stratford Playhouse Presents: Harvey

Stratford Playhouse is excited to open their 2017-18 season with Pulitzer Prize winning
play, Harvey, Thursday, October 19, 2017. Harvey, a time-honored classic comedy
written by Mary Chase, is the story of a perfect gentleman, Elwood P. Dowd, and his
inseparable best friend and confidant, Harvey. Of course, only Elwood can see
Harvey, who just happens to be a six-foot-three- and-a- half-inch white rabbit. Any
wonder Elwood's family decides a peaceful sanitarium might be a suitable
move for him…and Harvey? But a sanitarium turns out to be the perfect place
for a comedy of errors that prove Elwood – and Harvey – may be the sanest
characters around.
Tickets for Harvey are $17 and available for purchase online,, or at
the Stratford Box Office. Performances are scheduled for October 19, 21, 26, 27 and
28 at 7:30 p.m., with matinee performances at 2:30 p.m. on October 22 and 28. For
