Stratford vs. Memorial Food Drive Competiton

by Benjamin Siciliano

This week, in anticipation of the game on Friday, the Spartans have challenged the Memorial Mustangs to an epic competition: Who can collect the most canned foods?

Both schools are tasked with collecting as many non-perishable food items as they can, especially thanksgiving food items, such as: stuffing, cranberry sauce, canned gravy, canned chicken, beans and peas, canned soup, diced tomatoes, and dried fruit. Students have through Oct. 9 and Oct. 12 to donate.

All donations in this drive will benefit Saint John Vianney Catholic Church and its community. In the spirit of giving back as well as a little friendly competition, we hope that you contribute to the cause. Not to mention, a Spartan victory in this food fight would also grant an early dismissal to the Stratford students sometime this year, according to building principal Mr. Chad Crowson.

Stratford, let’s put our money where our mouth is and crush Memorial!
