Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a well known activist and civil rights leader who greatly influenced America during the 1950s and 1960s. He is famously known for his speech “I Have A Dream”, given during the March on Washington. He believed in a non-violent protest to achieve social change and to end racial segregation.
On April 4, 1968 Dr. Martin Luther King lodged at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee. He was supporting a workers’ strike when he was assassinated on the second floor balcony. Photos below:
