Announcements 10/30/18

  1. Congratulations to our Stratford Volleyball team for a 3 game sweep last night in their match against Bellaire.  They now advance to the next round of the playoffs.  Congratulations girls—Great job!!
  2. Our next Grace’s Gladiator day will be next Thursday, Nov. 1st!!!! Make sure you have bought yours! If not, they are on sale in the front office- Get one while supplies last!  The Shirts are $15.  No Spartan stands alone.
  3. The Gay-Straight Alliance is holding a Halloween Movie Party today, Wednesday, afterschool in Room 201. Come for food, friends, and a little Hocus Pocus! We hope to see you there!”
  4. It’s not too late to join Business Professionals of America organization.  It’s a great opportunity to learn more about Business and to compete at different levels.  October 31 is the last day to register.  Come by Room 237 or 236 to find out more.
  5. Students, Faculty and Staff – please remember to move your cars from the South Parking lot each day before 3:30. Move it or lose it!
  6. Hey, SENIORS: Do you want to hear something SPOOKY??? Senior ads for the yearbook are due THIS Wednesday, October 31! The deadline is SCARY soon! Order online at OR get a form from the main office/school website. Hurry, little pumpkins!
  7. Boys Basketball tryouts will be held for everyone not on the varsity football team on Nov. 2nd after school: Freshman from 3:15 to 4:45 and Soph. through Seniors from 4:45 to 6:15. Also on Saturday Nov. 3rd From 7 am to 8:30 am. Anyone interested is welcome to tryout. You must have all the required paperwork turned in by Nov. 2nd or you cannot tryout. Also please bring a copy of your report card. Any questions see Coach Johnson or Coach Kent.

    Dates and times are as follows:

    > Friday, November 2nd

    >              Freshmen  3:15 – 4:45pm

    >              Sophomore – Senior  4:45 – 6:15 Saturday, November 3rd

    >              All players 7:00 – 8:30 am

    >              Varsity players will have a scrimmage at Bridgelands High School on Saturday at 10:00 am.


    There will be a mandatory parents meeting for all team levels on Monday, November 5th at 7:00 in the SHS competition gym. A complete schedule for the season will be provided then.  Please plan on attending.

  8. This past weekend, Stratford Speech and Debate had their most successful weekend so far this year. Freshman Julianna Sodero placed 3rd in Prose, Freshman Will Larrabee placed 5th in Humorous Interpretation, Sophomore Luke Lyster placed 2nd in Humorous interpretation and was 1st place tournament champion in Dramatic interpretation. Luke is now qualified for STATE! Senior Brittany Bonnete was 1st place tournament champion in Poetry and Sophomore Maddy Reichel reached finals of Congressional debate! we are very proud of Startford Debate!
