Teacher of the Week: English Teacher Suza Sharp

Get to know Mrs. Sharp!

Q: Where did you go to college?

A: I went to UT for undergraduates, and then the University of Michigan for graduate school.

Q: What are some small things that make your day better?

A: Oh, okay. Just small things that make my day better, is if I can get to school ten minutes before the bell rings, if I can have a second cup of coffee. Just really, you know, engaging with polite kids who are prepared for class, and working with people I like.

Q: If you could make one rule that everyone had to follow, what rule would you make?

A: Students or teachers? I guess my main rule would be that everybody should come prepared.

Q: What was the best book or series that you’ve ever read?

A: The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan.

Q: If you had to change your name, what would you change it to?

A: Oh, I always wanted my name to be Kathy because I have such a weird first name, and I’m okay with my name now, I’m okay with it. ‘Cause I realize that I don’t look like a Kathy, but that was a popular name in the 60’s and 70’s.
